Newborn Photography
Congratulations on the arrival of your little one! I'd love to photograph this exciting time for you. Newborn photography packages are photographed at my studio in Mango Hill.
What should I expect in my newborn session?
When you walk into the studio, baby will be wrapped up super snug and comfy firstly. Wrapped up newborns are so peaceful and easy to work with so you'll be in for an enjoyable stress free experience. Sometimes baby may need a top up feed before wrapping and sometimes they may be awake the whole session, but what can be guaranteed is that your baby will love being wrapped up and be content. If baby has fallen asleep during the wrapping stage we will start with solo shots of baby in a basket and on the bed. Then we will do whole group family shots, small group family shots, sibling shots, mum and bub shots and dad and bub shots. More solo photos of your baby will then be taken with them slightly unwrapped to show off the cute details of their little feet and hands.

How much does it cost to upgrade our gallery?
Upgrading your gallery depends on the type of shoot you have booked. Click on the extra images page under pricing to find out more!
What’s the wait time like for our photos?
Good question! It's so exciting and I know you want to see them ASAP! My turn around time is within 4 weeks currently. Be rest assured I edit galleries daily and work my best to get everyone's galleries to them as soon as I can.
Do you do sneak peeks?
Unfortunately I do not, unless you have booked a wedding. Often the final edits are different and I would rather send them all out with consistent editing once I am happy and finished with your gallery! The gallery will be worth the wait!
Can you do a newborn shoot at my home?
I certainly can! I have done many home newborn shoots and am happy to come to you if that makes things easier for you. If your location is within 20 minutes of Mango Hill there is no travel fee however keep in mind if you are further than that there may be a small travel fee added.
I can not do posed newborn photography at your home so if you prefer that vibe you will need to come to my studio, but I can do a lifestyle studio vibe where the baby is wrapped and you are positioned into sweet poses as a family.
How should we dress for our session?
Having trouble deciding what to wear? No worries! Get in contact and I can send you example colour schemes to wear that suit the Candice Rouse Photography aesthetic!
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
That is perfectly normal! Don't stress, I will be there to guide your family into beautifully candid poses.
What's the best time to do a newborn shoot?
The best time is when your baby is 1-2 weeks old, as they are super sleepy and flexible. However do not stress if you miss this cut off! I am comfortable to do newborn shoots with them at any age.
Can I get completely unwrapped shots of my newborn?
At this stage, unfortunately not. One hour is not a long time and sometimes unwrapped poses can take 30 minutes just to get the one pose right! If we wrap baby up it will ensure you will get several different poses and photos within the one hour time frame.
